The Associate of Theology Degree Program encompasses 64 credit hours of academic undergraduate work. It lays the foundation of any further study toward the Bachelor Degree Program, which is also part of the undergraduate division.

The Associate of Theology Degree Program is for those students who want a scholastic minded discipline of study in theology, which will help them build a strong foundation as they pursue their God-given call to a ministry as a teacher, writer, pastor, or any other leadership position within the Church.

Course Outcomes
The Associate Degree in Theology grounds students in foundational theological disciplines and provides an opportunity for advanced level study of more specific unit areas within a chosen field of study. A student’s specialization is referred to as a “major.”  A student receiving his or her degree which holds a major in theology will equipment them to be ready for their called ministry.

Career Options
The course provides foundational knowledge and skills appropriate to Christian ministry, but not to the depth required for leaders and teachers in congregations, for which vocations the Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Ministry, and the Master of Divinity have been devised. This course in Associate of Theology provides a smooth pathway from a two-year course to a bachelor degree, should a student wish to articulate.
